ObjectStory is built to be private by default.
ObjectStory does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email, or other personal information. The photos you take and the stories you generate are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage.
The camera is used solely to photograph the object you choose, so the app can recognise it and compose a story. A photo you import from your library is used only for the same purpose. You control whether photos and stories are saved, in Settings.
When you generate a story from your own photo, a downscaled copy of that photo is sent over a secure connection to our processing service and to Anthropic (the AI provider that writes the story). It is used only to create your story — it is not linked to your identity, is not used to advertise to you, and is not used to train AI models. Sample stories use pre-written content and send nothing off your device.
Purchases are handled by Apple. We receive only what is needed to confirm your subscription status; we never receive your payment details.
We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell your data.
ObjectStory is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13.
You can delete any story from your gallery at any time, which removes its stored text and photo from your device.
We may update this policy; when we do, we will change the effective date above.
